After recording the podcast, I received a sample from Matcha Moto.
It’s an organic, ceremonial matcha from the Uji region.
This looks like a good way to start my first matcha review of 2021.
Time to whisk it
This tea has a sweet and fresh aroma. It feels mostly vegetal.
However, the aroma itself is sort of light, there isn’t as much depth to it as other ceremonial matcha that I have tried.
The color is very good. A bright green without yellow tones.
I’ll prepare it with 60 ml (2 oz) of water at 80 ºC (176ºF).
Now I feel a sweet and vegetal fragrance with notes of boiled greens.
After whisking, I obtained a good layer of foam.
As for the taste, it is vegetal and refreshing.
Light body, sweet, and not bitter nor astringent. It feels smooth.
Again, it does seem like a light taste.
It’s definitely a ceremonial matcha, but I would have preferred a stronger flavor.
This sometimes happens with organic matcha, probably because the tea plants aren’t fertilized as much.
But other than that, this tea offers a high quality to price ratio.
It’s a good ceremonial matcha with an attractive price.

I’m Brazilian and would love to try this tea. Unfortunately, I don’t know if it’s sold around here. Thank you for sharing your experience with Matcha.
